Ok, its official. Im starting my motorcycle trip around the world on June 21st, 2009 - I'm supposed to finish around January next year. The goodbye party is on 19th of June in "Maskata" club, Students town, Sofia - this is an official invitation, if you're reading this on time. The bands playing will be Obraten Efect and Alley Sin, and I have absolutely no idea what the rest of the program is going to look like. Keep your fingers crossed, maybe I will see you somewhere on my way - from Bulgaria to Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, Russia, Japan, the US, Canada, trans-Europe, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria again. So - I'm out for a spin, see you soon.

My friends from the Bulgarian prog-metal Pantommind just released a new album - you can hear parts of it at Pantommind.com. I wouldnt post it here if it didnt rock my ears off, so if you like progressive, check them out, they are awesome musicians, great guys and would need all the fans and support they can get to continue making their fantastic music. I was the first guy ever to buy the new album, so now having already made my way into history, I can retire from the world and find a desert cave to dwell in. See you in a couple of decades!

Important update: Yesterday I made my first schnitzels. Out of 5, 3 turned out reasonably edible. I believe this to be a great success, and probably my long overdue rite of passage into adulthood. Which reminds me I turned 30 last week - it came almost as big a surprise as the schnitzels.

Here's the deal - I wrote a story about another of my more recent motorcycle-travels , that most of you will not be able to read, because it is in BULGARIAN (the best language ever, you should learn it). You can view it HERE, and just so you know, it tells the story of me transporting my bike through Bulgaria on a train (it was too cool to ride - the weather, not the bike, of course), which is not an ordinary train - more like that Harry Potter stuff where magical things happen - like when there is no ramp to load the bike on, like when there's nothing to eat or drink and when you get lost in the tunnels below the train station just before the happy end. Serious stuff.

Hey there! More news, that are at least a month old: A long and totally not boring interview (honestly!) with me can be found in the march issue of the3D CREATIVE MAGAZINE, on the cover of which "Bad" is featured. "Bad" also got a CG talk choice award, and last, but not least - my tutorial on painting subsurface scattering is featured in 2D ARTIST MAGAZINE. Ah, one more thing. "Bad" is also going to be featured in the "Digital Art Masters" book from "3D Total". Cool, eh? And if you think this is exciting, this is going to blow you away... Err, well, maybe I'll wait for it a bit more. For now, I'll just say I've been working on something that is going to kick some major behind.

Allright...I just had another one of those days full of non-coincidences. Its damn weird, creepy almost, and it feels great. Does anybody else know what I'm talking about? Right now I feel like I have so much creative power I can explode. I know that sounds funny, I dont use drugs and I rarely drink. Just thought I should go and say it. Have a nice day all of you guys!

Hey guys, I almost forgot - there are a couple of new interviews with yours truly – one online HERE at the awesome character artists’ resource site CHARACTER DESIGNS.COM, the other one is offline, printed in the biggest Bulgarian magazine for…well for awfully lot of things, like hi-fi electronics, design and whatnot – HiComm. The current issue's theme is "Digital artwork", and it focuses on the Bulgarian digital artsits. The interview in HiComm features some work I have not shown on my website, as well as some of my friend Svetlin Velinov’s brilliant artworks, and more great and I believe useful stuff. I think the interviews turned out interesting and I hope you check them out. Upcoming is the interview in the march issue of 3D CREATIVE MAGAZINE.

Uploaded a short movie I did a year ago ( in five days, actually). Mostly 3D, made to resemble cutout animation. Click HERE for more
Also, and more important: HERE I have uploaded another short 3D movie project with explanations, pictures from production and pre-production stages of the work in progress. This movie has the temp title “Bad to the bone” and is about an evil looking biker who actually has a kind heart. No, of course it’s not about me, I don’t have the “kind heart” part.

Uploaded my article on subsurface scattering for 2D artists. It’s a study on how and why does the translucency work, without getting too physical ( ‘cause we’re artists, after all, not physicists ). I’ve also explained my approach to painting realistic translucent object, and I think it’s readable enough even for non-artists. It’s my first attempt on writing a tutorial; perhaps I will do painting realistic lighting/shadowing/global illumination next. Also! Christmass is near! Can you hear the bells? And still no snow, we actually were able to take a ride with my friends on the bikes. Sweet. That cursed global warming might just as well give us some good moments before we all die in a horrible ecological catastrophy...And more - aside from enviromentalist, I'm slowly turning into vegan, it's been more then a month I havent tasted any animal products. Hardcore! I'll be saying this here in a couple of days again, but just in case - have a MERRY CHRISTMASS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey, remember when I told you I had some news that really, really rock? Well, it’s the fact, that I now work in Offset Software – I guess almost a full year now - the guys behind Project Offset – a very impressive next gen first person epic fantasy shooter. Sounds good, eh? The team is fantastically talented and I’m honored to be a part of those guys. I’m working on getting my visa and working for a while in California (sure, no problem, I’ll get you Arnold’s autograph), where they tell me I can ride a bike full year. Sounds like a nice place to spend the winter...

Went to the Romanian biker gathering in Snagov, near Bucuresti, with Plamen, Bat'Dimo and lots of other friends. They have these cool meatballs with garlic, and a neat lake with ducks and boats. I had to (try to) sleep in a tent full of water, the rain was a flood, and we got lost in Bucuresti twice cause of Plamen and his crazy ghost-rider-like drivin’. P.S. A week later that guy went from Varna to Moscow on his motorcycle FOR 27 HOURS. And I had to ride with HIM. Not fair. I want my Shark back.

I got a new bike. Err…relatively new I mean, it’s like ‘94 or something, A Honda Revere 650. I've painted it yellow-black instantly, and I feel much better now. 'Cause I'm not watching the other passing by riders enviously, I mean, not just 'cause of the color. Anyway, it’s more like a streetfighter/naked than a cruiser, and it moves a hell of a lot differently – it accelerates, brakes, turns/leans much, much better. I’ve worn out the sides of my boots by dragging them on the ground while turning in the beginning, but I calmed down and am a serene rider once again. That happens sometimes when you almost manage to kill yourself. All’s well that ends well, they say! Thanx, God!

I sold my bike yesterday! It's hard to believe I'm motorcycle-less, though it's temporary I avoid thinking about it. Kind of like I'm naked, and It'll get harder as the sun becomes warmer and closer to Earth. I hope to get a new one before the summer comes, but then again...Seems like I'll have so much work I rather not have mycelf distracted:) Cause the work is awesome too...I'll tell you more when I can!:)

Today I ceremonially lowered the Bon Jovi banner I held hanging in the office. After a period of giving it some thought, I decided to leave Black Sea Studios and take a different path, wherever it might lead. I had an awesome three years working with those guys, I've learned a lot and I hope I was able to give something in return as well. I'll miss ya, dudes. You rock! I allready have a few proposals I'll be thinking of next, but for now I'll be spending the next month studiyng and working on my short movie, wich is to be my graduation flic at New Bulgarian University in Animation Direction. I allready have a publication in NBU ( regarding Internet emoticons, wich was a bit massacred by whoever edited it...don't read the intro, I beg you! How does"The main research on emoticons was done in Internet" sound? Well, I didn't write THAT! Doh. ) Also I was invited to work as a WRITER for Gamers Workshop magazine. I love those guys, so I'll try to do that when I got the time. Also GRAPHILLA 3D contest I organized now has a 2D side-contest with the same theme! Cool stuff! Be sure to check it out:)

How cool is that;) We hope there'll be lots of interesting work and competition going on in the forums, so check it out HERE . It has a deadline of two months so...It'll be a while till the results show up.

BIG gallery update. Finally, Eurica, It's alive, etc. After a couple of sleepless nights I managed to upload all the junk from 2000 to 2004, mostly ancient stuff but some of the images I still like nevertheless. I got permission from Black Sea Studios to upload Knights of Honor stuff, I also got permission from Haemimont Games to upload ( really ancient ) stuff from Celtic Kings . I made a separate thread for the Celtic Kings ingame character portraits, uploaded some pics made for the Graphilla forums, some 3D thing, even some antideluvian stuff made for Gamers' Workshop magazine in 2000. Most recent thing is the Biker-Santa from 2004, whom I didn't finish so It's still a wip. I also updated some of the old threads with new images. Yes, I know I should have done that years ago, please don't look at me like that. I still have to arrange all the stuff by dates, right now it's a big time-space mess in the gallery, hope it doesn't give birth to some online wormhole and cause the Internet to implode or something. Don't be afraid to click on the links to view all of the gallerys, a proof of my recently discovered knowlege of html tag existence. One more thing: if you're into melodic heavy rock, this band is a must-hear: Starbreaker

New news! At long last...After a summer filled with thrilling adventures and gasoline scent ( wich are yet to be told, as soon as I have the time ) I'm back at work. A couple of days ago I attended the Computer Space 2005 jury in computer graphics, animation, and offline multimedia categories, wich was an interesting experience for me. Right now I'm working on some stuff wich hopefully I'll be able to share soon, so expect even newer news. Have a nice day >:)

Good news everyone!:) I got something to brag about...one of my biggest dreams has come true:) 25th of may, Erfurt stadium, Germany - BON JOVI live! They did a great show, the public went wild, just as I always have imagined it. Despite it was the new "Bounce" album tour, they did a great deal of their older songs, playing harder than ever. These guys roooock! Yeeeah! Whoooah! I had a short stay in Bonn with my brother and sister,we had a great time.I loved the town, it has many old buildings, cathedrals and tiny streets, and looks somehow tiny and comfortable:) And I loved the shnitzels-check out "Lenee's" restaurant on Lenee Street (or maybe it was Lenne:)

The 3D contest we did at the bulgarian CG Art forums www.GRAPHILLA.com turned out to be a success! More than twenty contestants, some of them came up with really professional works. The assignment was "Space ship" - an easy, interesting and yet challenging task, leaving enough space for fresh and innovative concepts. I'm really proud of the work we did on the organization, since it was our first time doing something like this:) I'd like to thank especially George "Joro" Nikolov from "5th degree" studio and my colleague and friend Vesselin "Morgoth" Efremov. I love ya guys! We're looking up to the new contest, which is coming soon. If you happen to be some eccentric multi-millionaire looking for a cool way to spend his money, you can support our next contest thus giving Bulgarian CGI artists the chance to survive in this sad and cruel world... :)

OK, finally online! After years of planning to build myself a website, I finally have one. The thing that made me do it was the receiving of the CG talk choice award for one of my latest 2d works.I needed a place to place it;) And still, i decided to leave the work on the site in the hands of professionals: Very, very special thanks to my friends Assen "Implant" Petrov from Designworx, who did the awsome design, and Kiril "Alien" Iliev for developing it :) Thanx guys, I'd be nowhere without you!
